Trouble getting your console game to play?

  • No image appearing onscreen.
Solution: Check your cables, both on the system and those connected to the TV. Make sure they are inserted firmly into the proper places (sometimes a loose cable will be the culprit). Also make sure that the TV and Game system are turned on and the TV is on the proper channel to play your game. Depending on how you have it set up, you may need to switch from TV to VIDEO on your TV Remote, or if your TV has more than one auxiliary channel (AUX) make sure you have it on the correct one. Often times it is just a simple oversight and an easy fix.
  • No sound is coming from the TV.
Solution: Again, check those cables. Make sure that the Red and White audio cables are plugged into the matching color jacks on your television and that they are inserted all the way.
  • Game keeps crashing/locking up.
Solution: Take the game out and check the bottom surface for any dirt, heavy fingerprint smudges, or scratches. Dirty and scratched disks prevent the laser in the system from reading the information on your game. If your disk is simply dirty there are a number of disk cleaning devices on the market you can use. There are also some scratch removal devices on the market, but use at your own risk. To best avoid these situations:
    • Only handle your game disk by the edges; do not hold it like a Frisbee where your fingers touch the bottom surface.
    • When not playing your game, or when switching from one game to another, always put the game not being played back in its protective case.
  • Game is clean and still locks up.
Solution: If the game crashes in the same place every time, and there is no evident dirt/smudges/scratches on the disk, please contact customersupport@southpeakgames.com and provide details on the problem that is occurring.

Trouble getting your PC game to play?

  • First Step: Double check the Minimum System Requirements on the box and match them with your set up at home. If you match or exceed the Minimum Requirements, make sure that you have downloaded all the latest drivers for your system.
    • How do I check my system to make sure I have what I need?
Right click on the MY COMPUTER Icon then select Properties.
    • Where do I go to download the drivers I need?
Find the maker of your video card, for instance Nvidia, and then go to their website. They will generally have a Download section where you can search for the latest drivers for your video card, sound device, etc. If you have any problems locating drivers for your hardware you may need to contact the manufacturer.
  • My game runs, but it is sluggish, choppy, and hard to control.
Go into the video settings and see if you can lower the texture detail and other visual parameters to their lowest settings and try again. If you already have everything set to the lowest settings, you may not have enough RAM or your Video Card may barely be below requirements. You may also want to check out the game’s website for any patches that may have been released for your game.
